The Lark and The Bats of Flea Theatre fame will be presenting a workshop of Out of Joint in September, and I was awarded a Princess Grace Special Projects Grant to cover the costs!

As you may recall, Out of Joint premiered at the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp last summer as a one-act, and I have since developed into a full-length play with the help of the students at the Savannah College of Art and Design and The Magic Theatre. The next step? Work with Multimedia Designer Jared Mezzochi (who, by the way, was just awarded a Princess Grace Award himself!) to really make the new version of the play come to life in ways that bend all of space and time!
I am ecstatic to say that I have been chosen as one of the 2012-13 Hodder Fellows by the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University. The official announcement was made this afternoon. So once the PONY Fellowship is through I will have another year beginning at the top of Princeton’s fall term of being a playwright and only a playwright.
All my thanks to the Lewis Center, some folks who helped me figure out how to word my application (you know who you are!), and to all of you for your continued support. Hopefully, I’ll keep on making you proud.
Turns out most of the articles just re-iterated the press release, so I’ll just put a few links here.
The Clyde Fitch Report (whoa — I got the headline on this one!)
And to all those folks out there who’ve been sending me kind messages and words of support: THANK YOU SO MUCH! You all know that my work would not be in the place that it is if it weren’t for so many of you.
At long last, I’ve got myself a website. It’s a modest little thing, but it’ll do the trick. Please take a little time to click around and get to know me and my work.
And what better way to start things off by drawing your attention to the official announcement of the recipient of the 2010 Princess Grace Award for Playwriting: me!
That’s what I said! Visit the Princess Grace Foundation website and click Award Winners for the full details. I’ll post links to any articles (if there, in fact, are any) tomorrow morning.
