Two more glowing reviews of The Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s production of after all the terrible things I do have hit the Internet since that last opening week.

The Rep Presents Incomparable World Premiere (Broadway World, October 10, 2014)

Rep’s ‘all the terrible things’ well-crafted story (Greater Milwaukee Today, October 16, 2014)

Once again, I cannot believe this reception. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Milwaukee. I hope this is just the beginning of a long lasting friendship.

In terms of my site, I’ve added a terrible things Press page with pull quotes and links. I’ve also added a gallery of the promo materials, since I loved that marketing campaign so very much.

And, finally, one little announcement: I will be in Milwaukee for the closing weekend of the show, 11/6 – 9, 2014! I’ll be part of the talkback the evening of the 6th and at every evening performance of the show. Please come join me! I’m so very proud of what The Rep and the performers have done with the play, and I can’t wait to see this production out in style.

To tweet, post, or tell us your own terrible things click here. Single Tickets for all of Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s 2014/15 productions are now on sale and can be purchased through The Rep’s Ticket Office by calling (414) 224-9490, online 24/7 at www.MilwaukeeRep.com, or in person at 108 E. Wells Street. Group tickets are also available for purchase by calling Group Sales Manager Joy Surber at (414) 290-5340.

From Peach to Apple

30 Oct

My last morning in Georgia has come, and I’ll be flying home to New York this afternoon. I had a lovely time at SCAD and Actor’s Express, and I hope that you can make it out to the show, if you’re in the area. Our opening night yesterday was a great success, and I felt welcomed and very much at home. Thanks, Atlanta!

In celebration of Georgia week, I’ve done some related updates to the site. I’ve updated the Press page for Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them to include those glowing print reviews of the New Theatre production. The update includes two equally positive blog reviews that I hadn’t published here previously.

I’ve also added a gallery for the Perry-Mansfield production of Out of Joint. It was great fun remembering how gorgeous that production was. Look at that design!

Finally, I’ve updated the site itself so that you can subscribe to posts by E-mail as well as RSS. I’ve also added a post archive so you can search for any past news or events more easily.

It’s been a fun week seeing Out of Joint come back to life and grow in the process and seeing Actor’s Express take such great care in their production of Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them. Thanks for everything Georgia, and I hope to see you again soon.

Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them Opens Tonight at Actor’s Express!

Edith has gone south!

My week in Georgia is coming to an end, and I plan on going out with an air rifle BANG. Tonight Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them makes it’s third NNPN Rolling World Premiere stop at Actor’s Express in Atlanta, GA. There will be a performance and post-show reception with the artists (including me) at the theatre — please join us for both!

Additionally, I’ve updated the Edith gallery to include photos from the New Theatre production in Coral Gables, Florida.

New Theatre’s Production of Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them Opens This Week

13 Oct

I’m down in Miami this week (Coral Gables, to be specific) for the second stop of Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them‘s Rolling World Premiere at New Theatre. The cast is an energetic and adorable bunch, and the folks at New are all nice as nice can be, so please come out and support the show. They are putting a tremendous amount of work and care into Edith’s south Florida adventure, and it absolutely shows!

Additionally, New really wants the youth contingent in Miami to come check out the show and are doing a special promotion this weekend where the first 25 students 25 and under get in free (with discounted tickets for students after those 25). For information on the 25 under 25 promotion, click here.

On a related note, I’ve finally added the Humana production photos to the Galleries section of this site. Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

2 Jan

Hello, 2011!!!

Needless to say, I had a wonderful year in 2010, and with everything coming up, I have no doubt that 2011 will be even better. I hope the same can be said for all of you and your loved ones.

I have no news to post at the moment (or, rather, nothing I CAN post yet — yes, I’m a tease), but there will be plenty to come in the months ahead. For now, I’m resting up for the world premieres of Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them and The End at the 2011 Humana Festival of New American Plays. Once again, the link for tickets can be found here. Please come join us this March!

On the site, I’ll soon be uploading additional pictures to the gallery of my play New. Following the crash of an external hard drive, I was able to get other copies of the pictures thanks to the lovely Jennifer Lim.

I’ll keep you posted on future developments. And, once again, happy, happy new year!

At long last, I’ve got myself a website. It’s a modest little thing, but it’ll do the trick. Please take a little time to click around and get to know me and my work.

And what better way to start things off by drawing your attention to the official announcement of the recipient of the 2010 Princess Grace Award for Playwriting: me!

That’s what I said! Visit the Princess Grace Foundation website and click Award Winners for the full details. I’ll post links to any articles (if there, in fact, are any) tomorrow morning.

Construction Resumes

I’ve updated every page (About Me, Plays, and Contact) as well as adding a Gallery. Once I retrieve a few more pictures from an old hard drive that’s being… difficult… I’ll be all set to launch!

Please send good techno karma and pray to the data retrieval gods on my behalf.
